Housing Legacy Society

Help us raise $2 million for the Housing Legacy Fund by 2024 by joining the Housing Legacy Society!

The Housing Legacy Fund was established in 2018 and is managed by the Cape Cod Foundation. The principal is invested to generate income, so Housing Assistance has the resources to implement its mission – preventing homelessness, stabilizing families, and empowering economic mobility into the future.

In three short years, thanks to generous donors from across the Cape and Islands, we’ve managed to raise more than $1 million for our newly established Housing Legacy Fund. Our goal is to raise another $1 million by 2024 to mark the 50th anniversary of our agency which provides critical services to our neighbors in need of housing.

Donors interested in learning more about the fund and helping Housing Assistance meet its $2 million goal should contact Anne Van Vleck, Chief Development Officer by email or by calling 508-771-5400 ext. 228.

What Our Housing Legacy Society Donors Say

Jim Hinkle & Roy Hammer
“Jim and I are longtime supporters of Housing Assistance and recognize it is important that we not only give today, but we support their work in the future. One way we can do that is by leaving them as a legacy in our wills. We both have done that and we hope other people think positively about including Housing Assistance as one of their beneficiaries.”
Jim Hinkle & Roy Hammer, Housing Legacy Society Donors
Michael and Area Princi
“I think it is incumbent on as many businesses, town agencies, chambers of commerce, and individuals as possible to help Housing Assistance build the fund and support, in any way they can, the development of affordable housing and workforce housing in our region.”

Leave a Planned Gift

In making a planned gift to Housing Assistance, you can gain valuable financial and tax benefits for you and your family. You will become a Legacy Leader and will make a difference in the lives of future generations by planning your gift now, while fulfilling your own wishes and philanthropic dreams.

As you begin the process of planning your gift, you have several options, including:

  • Include a gift in your will or other planned giving investment that is designated to the Housing Assistance Housing Legacy Fund

  • Direct your assets – stock or property – to be used for the purpose of the Housing Legacy Fund

  • Make a gift today or name Housing Assistance as the beneficiary of an existing or new life insurance policy, which will be directed to our Housing Legacy Fund. If Housing Assistance is named as the owner and beneficiary of the insurance policy, your premium payments may even be tax-deductible.

If you are considering making a Planned Gift or Bequest, we would be happy to discuss the options available to you, and partner with you to ensure that your gift has the impact you desire.

Housing Assistance recommends consulting a legal advisor when drafting a will or making changes to your planned giving arrangements as this individual can provide advice about the most appropriate way to remember Housing Assistance through planned giving.
