Every August, the Barnstable Sunrise Rotary Club makes a donation of backpacks filled with a variety of school supplies, from pencils to crayons to notebooks to glue sticks to calculators.
“This is what we do,” said the Club’s Past President Billy Roberts. “It’s for the kids in our community.”

Last month, he was joined by Club President Nefertiti Holliday in dropping off 15 backpacks to Housing Assistance that went to children at our Angel House shelter and Scattered Sites shelter in Hyannis. Since 2017, the club has organized these back-to-school drives for our neediest clients.

The Barnstable Sunrise Rotary Club donated these backpacks, filled with school supplies, to children in our Angel House and Scattered Sites shelter.

The backpacks are greatly appreciated by our families in shelter and a welcome start to the school year. “The children are going to be so excited when they see these,” said Angel House Office Manager Lisa Robertson.
