A year after Housing Assistance made the difficult decision to postpone Oysters & Champagne, the event is making a triumphant return on Thursday, July 8 at the Wequassett Resort in Harwich.

Announced last month, the event is already sold out and a waitlist has been started. The high interest in the event is inspired partially by the urge for many to safely gather in-person for an elegant evening in a beautiful setting. It’s also driven by the fact that the Cape is in the midst of a housing crisis and so many want to help address the growing need.

“The pandemic has exacerbated the already severe lack of accessible housing in our region,” Cape Cod Five CEO Dorothy Savarese said. “Housing Assistance’s efforts to sustain an appropriate mix of available housing options is imperative to the health and vitality of our unique communities, and never more so than today.

Savarese will be joined by Tony Shepley, owner of Shepley Wood Products, and Dan Wolf, Cape Air CEO, as Fundraising Ambassadors for this year’s Oysters & Champagne.

Members of the Host Committee are Ashley Baker and Dave Miller; Kristen and Christopher Boyd; Cathy and Jack Brennan; Lindsay Cole and Christopher Ward; and Missy and Dave McGraw.

Businesses interested in sponsoring this year’s Oysters & Champagne should reach out to Deanna Bussiere at dbussiere@haconcapecod.org or at 508-771-5400, ext. 270.
