We are delighted to announce that the Lower Cape Outreach Council is joining forces with Housing Assistance at its offices at 19 Brewster Cross Road in Orleans. Now residents of the Lower and Outer Cape who want in-person assistance can access the many food, utility, housing, financial assistance and other services from both organizations at one location with social distancing safety precautions in place.

Both agencies will continue to offer services remotely over the phone and online. For years, Housing Assistance has helped more than 775 residents of the Lower and Outer Cape towns each year through its financial assistance, energy efficiency, financial education and first-time homebuyer programs. However, we know a physical location is also important to people who may have limited access to phone and Internet or other obstacles to remote services.

Larry Marsland, CEO of Lower Cape Outreach Council (pictured above with Alisa Magnotta, CEO of Housing Assistance) stated, “This alliance is great news for residents of the Lower and Outer Cape. Too many local people struggle just to afford their housing, meet expenses in the off-season, even to keep food on their tables. Now there is one united source to help on each of these fronts, right here in Orleans!”

Housing Assistance’s trained intake staff as well as all our application materials will be available on site at the Lower Cape Outreach Council’s Orleans offices. Staff of both agencies will be trained to support clients with the full range of services to help them weather this crisis. Initial HAC staff office hours in Orleans will be Monday mornings, and will expand if we determine the demand for in-person services is greater. Pictured below is Housing Assistance’s intake counselor, Cindy Burns, in the new Orleans office.
