A little more than two weeks before the start of winter, students enrolled in the Plymouth Police Academy stopped by Housing Assistance to donate over two dozen coats and blankets for the region’s homeless.

Patrol Officers Danielle St. Peter and Scott Leger of the Barnstable Police Department’s Community Impact Unit (CIU) worked with Housing Assistance Outreach Specialist Patty Alonso on identifying a way for students to directly help individuals they work with who are living in the streets and woods of Barnstable.
The winter coats and blankets will do just that. For some, it may mean the difference between life and death this winter, a way to keep them warm and safe during the coldest months of the year.
