Program Counselor

Housing Assistance has a full-time position available to oversee the provision of services to tenants and landlords participating in rental assistance programs. Responsibilities include: maintaining client files; negotiating leases and contracts; mediating for landlords and tenants; and providing information to applicants, property owners, other agencies, and the general public.

The ideal candidate must have exceptional organizational and time-management skills, above average oral and written communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, be able to comprehend and utilize complex program regulations and procedures, and be sensitive to confidential issues and to the needs of households with low income. Two years of relevant experience is preferred.

Staff Accountant

Housing Assistance is seeking an experienced staff accountant to join our finance team. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position that is responsible for performing general accounting and bookkeeping, including payroll processing; journal entries; reconciliations; payables/receivables; and preparing financial reports and department budgets. Experience with government contracts is desirable.

The ideal candidate will have previous work experience with accounting software packages, such as Sage 100. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and demonstrated knowledge of accounting and finance functions are a must. A BS in Accounting or Finance is required.

Case Manager/Recovery Specialist/Office Support

Housing Assistance has a full-time benefit eligible position available to enhance the recovery potential of families without permanent housing. The Case Manager/Recovery Specialist works to develop and implement a service plan with families to increase skills and competency; support recovery efforts and program compliance; and provide program support.

Qualified candidates will have experience working in recovery-focused environments. Candidates must show they have working experience being creative, compassionate, computer literate, and detail oriented. This position requires an active LADC/CADC, equivalent education, or personal recovery experience.

This position will provide case management, recovery support, and program support under the supervision of the Clinical Director and Program Director. This is an essential position that requires on-site work. Hours of work are Monday, Thursday and Friday 8 am-5 pm and Tuesday and Wednesday 8 am-4 pm. Limited time sign-on bonus and shift stipends available.

Energy Auditor

Housing Assistance has a full-time energy auditor position available in our Energy Department. This is an opportunity for a person who wants to enter the energy conservation industry or who has experience as an energy auditor. Training opportunities are available for the right person to become a certified energy auditor

Duties include outreach to prospective customers; conducting energy and electric assessments in single-family homes and multi-family buildings; completing work orders for installation of weatherization measures; working with weatherization contractors through the installation process; conducting quality control inspections; and processing information using software programs.

Skills required include excellent management, organization, customer service, good work ethics, and computer literacy. Must be independent and a team player. Experience and/or knowledge of weatherization measures and building science and or single-family home construction is a plus. A valid driver’s license is requred.

Special Services Coordinator

Housing Assistance is currently hiring for a Special Services Coordinator. This position provides short-term case management services to clients impacted by COVID-19 who are engaged in the new Eviction Prevention Initiative. These households require short-term case management support, referral, and follow-through to reduce the likelihood of eviction due to COVID-19 impacts.

This position ensures that customer service practices are providing a positive experience and are aligned with company values; provides information about housing programs and referral services to clients; coordinated with local eviction prevention partners; and completes follow-up and client tracking.

Qualifications for this position include the ability to capture and enter client information in electronic databases, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to be compassionate, ability to interact with high-risk clients while being respectful and keeping appropriate boundaries. Basic knowledge regarding housing programs is required! Previous case management experience is required.

This is a full-time benefit eligible position. This is a grant-funded position. The position requires the ability to work from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. This position reports to the Information and Client Services Manager.

Financial Assistance Specialist

Housing Assistance is currently hiring for the position of Financial Assistance Specialist. The primary role of this position is to engage with people who are requesting financial assistance through the agency to help address a housing crisis that is placing the household at risk of homelessness. This position supports various housing financial assistance programs, both publicly and privately funded.

This position will review household information to determine eligibility; meet with households to evaluate current housing status; liaison with vendors to arrange payment; and submit completed funding packets for supervisor approval. This position required both the ability to engage successful with families and attention to detail while auditing documentation.

Required skills for this position include the ability to perform math/accounting equations, ability to be extremely detail oriented, compassionate, consistent, and work as part of a team. Experience working with high-risk individuals with a team in a case management system or information/referral system is a plus!

This is a full-time hourly position and is grant funded. This position will report to the Family Services Supervisor.

Case Manager (Village at Cataumet Shelter)

Housing Assistance is currently hiring for a shelter Case Manager at our family homeless shelter located in Cataumet. This position will work directly with clients to identify housing barriers; assist with housing search activities; and complete required state documentation. From assessment o placement, the Case Manager will be responsible for assisting families with budgeting, monitoring completion of required tasks, and supporting efforts to secure long-term secure housing.

Qualified candidates will have experience working with homeless or low-income families, be team oriented, have experience identifying community resources, and must have a valid driver’s license.

A bachelor’s degree in a human services field is a plus!

This position will report to the Director of the Village at Cataumet.

Administrative Assistant to the CEO

Housing Assistance has a part-time position available to assist our Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In this capacity, the administrative assistant will provide oversight of all logistical, project and administrative support to our CEO, including, but not limited to CEO support; research and preparation of presentations; Board coordination and support; travel logistics; event coordination and tactical organization of meetings; and special events and maintaining the CEO’s calendar.

The Administrative Assistant reports to the CEO and works closely with the CEO, the Senior Leadership Team, and the full organization as needed.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and follow through in a timely manner.

Shelter Support Staff

Housing Assistance is currently looking for support staff for days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays for our family homeless shelters in North Falmouth, Bourne and Hyannis. Our shelters serve families who are experiencing homelessness and help them to stabilize their housing situation.

Qualified applicants will have an interest or experience working with families in crisis, be dependable and reliable, and be able to follow shelter procedures. Support staff report to the Shelter Director.

Various shifts are available. The pay rate is $14.79/hour. Signing bonuses and stipends are available for a limited time
