VP of External Affairs

Housing Assistance Corporation is seeking a full-time VP of External Affairs. The VP of External Affairs reports to the CEO and creates, develops, coordinates, implements and supervises Housing Assistance’s marketing, advertising, public relations and legislative affairs efforts to ensure Housing Assistance’s community, regional, and state presence. The VP is responsible for internal communications and external public relations, marketing, and communication activities. The VP is a collaborative member of the management team and serves as a liaison between the Housing Assistance and the media, legislators and other community groups. The VP will lead the External Affairs department and will establish and achieve Housing Assistance’s aspirational objectives through strong and innovative leadership of the external affairs function. 

 Qualified candidates must: 

  • Have proven team leadership experience, with deep knowledge in integrated marketing, communications strategies and public relations

Executive Assistant

Position Summary:

This position provides oversight of all logistical, project and administrative support to HAC’s most senior leadership including, but not limited to Officer support, research and preparation of presentations, travel logistics, event coordination and tactical organization of meetings and special events. The Executive Assistant reports to the CEO and works closely with the CEO, COS, COO, the Senior Leadership Team, and the full organization as needed. Ideal candidates would demonstrate attention to detail, ability to anticipate and problem solve, be self-motivated/self-directed, and have executive level admin experience.

Director of Property Management

Housing Assistance Corporation is currently hiring for a Full Time Director of Property Management. The Director of Property Management is responsible for management of HAC’s 100 unit rental portfolio and maintenance of all HAC owned property. The Director will provide direct supervision to staff responsible for carrying out the maintenance and leasing/tenant management, as well as provide oversight and strategic management to our rental portfolio.

Qualified applicants will have a firm knowledge base in rental portfolio management and a valid MA Driver’s License. 5 years experience in Property Management and supervision preferred.

Leased Housing Program Representative

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for a Full-time, 35 hours per week, Program Representative to work within Housing Assistance Corporations Leased Housing Program.

This position will be responsible for maintaining current and working understandings of applicable state and federal policy regulations. You will be required to determine participant income rent and complete required transactions. The Program Representative will be responsible for continued occupancy transactions, specifically re-certifications, interim adjustments, participation terminations as well as deal with participant landlord issues.

An ideal candidate must have exceptional organizational and time-management skills, above average oral and written communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, be able to comprehend and utilize complex program regulations and procedures, and be sensitive to confidential issues and to the needs of households with low income. Two years relevant experience preferred.

Program Support Specialist

Housing Assistance Corporation is seeking a full-time, 35 hour per week, Program Support Specialist in our Leased Housing Department.

The Program Support Specialist will support the Leased Housing Department’s clients to navigate their status within the program. This position will provide exemplar customer service and support for department voucher holders and landlords.

Basic expectations of this position are to act as the customer service arm of the department and work with clientele as customer service support point person to resolve any concerns that the clientele present. This position will work closely with Program Counselors and Inspections staff to ensure the correct information is being provided to clients. This position will also provide follow up support to make sure the issue was resolved in a timely manner. This position will engage with the high volume of phone calls, emails, and walk-in clientele each day to resolve crisis or questions that are presenting.

Essential functions include:

  • Track and monitor the needs of clientele who visit or call the department
  • Gather documentation from files and databases
  • Display knowledge of program regulations
  • Assess needs of clientele and make appropriate referrals and provide the appropriate information per programs regulations. Link clients to appropriate services within HAC and the community.
  • Assist clients with all procedures necessary in maintaining their program participation, including recertification, lease-ups, annual and interim income adjustments, changes in family composition, move-outs, transfers, inspections, evictions, and other procedures
  • Educate program participants and owners as to the respective responsibilities and obligations under program requirements and fair housing laws to avoid violations such as damage to property or other issues that could result in eviction or loss of funding eligibility
  • Maintain tenant’s files, in accordance with policies and procedures and as prescribed by DHCD Administration plan and HUD regulations.
  • Maintain basic knowledge regarding housing inspection requirements and procedures; assist tenants in the resolution of issues that may be identified during property re-inspection to ensure successful inspection and continued rental assistance eligibility
  • Follow up with clients served to ensure their problems or requests have been resolved/completed
  • Engage with Program Counselors/Inspectors to assist with participant barriers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of federal and state voucher programs is preferred.

Housing Counselor

Housing Assistance Corporation is currently hiring for the position of Housing Counselor. The primary role of this position is to engage with people who are requesting information through the agency for housing counseling, referrals, and financial assistance. Housing Counselor will engage with individuals and families to provide requested information and counseling. Provide information and guidance regarding significant financial transactions and with high-risk clients. The Housing Counselor provides Reverse Mortgage counseling to clients who are required to receive unbiased information regarding the benefits and risks of a reverse mortgage while working with an outside lender. They also provide Foreclosure Counseling to clients who are delinquent in mortgage payments and at risk of losing their housing regarding the process of loss mitigation and reviewing financial information to make a determination of financial feasibility moving forward. This position will administer funding for move-in or housing retention costs for households who are housing unstable and in need of public/private funding to stabilize. Required skills for this position include the ability to perform math/accounting equations, ability to be extremely detail oriented, compassionate, consistent, and the ability to become HUD HECM Counselor Certified and HUD Housing Counselor Certified by within 6 months of hire. Experience working with high-risk individuals with a team in a case management system or information/referral system is a must!

This position will report to the Director of HCEC.

Village at Cataumet Shelter Support Staff

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for support staff for nights, weekends, and holidays/per diem for our family homeless shelter in the Bourne area. Our shelters serve families who are experiencing homelessness and help them to stabilize their housing situation.

Qualified applicants will have an interest or experience working with families in crisis; be dependable and reliable; and be able to follow shelter procedures. Support staff report to the Shelter Director.

Available shifts, include every other weekend:

  • Evening Shifts, 4-8 pm AND 4 pm-midnight
  • Saturday and Sunday, noon-midnight
  • Holiday/Per Diem coverage hours vary

The rate is $19 per hour. Signing bonuses are available for a limited time.

Carriage House Shelter Support Staff

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for  a part-time, 20 hour/week employee to work at our women’s and children homeless shelter in North Falmouth. Our Carriage House shelter serves families who are experiencing homelessness and helps them overcome barriers so they can find success once out of shelter.

The shifts for this position are:

  • Evenings, 3 pm to 10 pm
  • Overnight Shifts: 10 pm to 8 am
  • Various weekend shifts and holidays

The rate for this position is $19 per hour and includes a signing bonus. Per diem shifts may also be available.
