Leased Housing Program Representative

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for a Full-time, 35 hours per week, Program Representative to work within Housing Assistance Corporations Leased Housing Program.

This position will be responsible for maintaining current and working understandings of applicable state and federal policy regulations. You will be required to determine participant income rent and complete required transactions. The Program Representative will be responsible for continued occupancy transactions, specifically re-certifications, interim adjustments, participation terminations as well as deal with participant landlord issues.

An ideal candidate must have exceptional organizational and time-management skills, above average oral and written communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, be able to comprehend and utilize complex program regulations and procedures and be sensitive to confidential issues and to the needs of households with low income. Two years relevant experience preferred.

IT Network Administrator

The objective of the IT Network Administrator is to maintain Housing Assistance Corporation’s information technology systems and networks. This position will act as the liaison to our external service provider to maintain companywide cyber security, update software and hardware for all departments as needed and troubleshoot problems as they arise. The IT Network Administrator is responsible for providing, installing and maintaining on-site company hardware including, but not limited to, computers, laptops and cell phones.

Qualifications for this position include experience in network management and help desk support. The right candidate will be experienced in managing IT systems and applications, troubleshooting and repairing issues.

This position requires the ability to work at 460 W. Main Street and other sites as needed from 9am to 5pm Monday -Friday and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Marketing & Communications Director

This position drives logistics and strategy, offers project management and administrative support, and consultant oversight to HAC’s External Affairs Department. The Marketing & Communications Director reports to the Chief External Affairs Officer and works closely with consultants, the advocacy/legislative team, the Resource Development Department, and the full organization as needed.

The Marketing & Communications Director plans and executes the organization’s content marketing strategy to targeted audiences to promote key aspects of Housing Assistance Corporation’s work and further the mission of the organization. This position manages the creation of compelling content and messaging and identifies strategically important platforms, channels, and initiatives for delivering content and messaging. This individual is responsible for measuring, evaluating, reporting on, and making recommendations for improvement for marketing and communications strategies and tactics.

In collaboration with the Chief External Affairs Officer and in collaboration with consultants, the Marketing & Communications Director will drive big-picture strategy for Housing Assistance Corporation’s marketing and communications efforts annually, including developing best practices for content development and dissemination, leading external communications/media relations, refining our local brand, and messaging, and overseeing website and social media presence.

The Marketing & Communications Director will work in collaboration with Housing Assistance Corporation’s Resource Development Department on overseeing the execution of fundraising related marketing and communications. The Director is responsible for the project management and execution of key non-development events, working in conjunction with the Event and Resource Development Coordinator.

Applicants should be a self-starter, be comfortable with execution of detailed plans as well as proactively identifying areas for department improvement and quarterbacking those improvements, have experience and interest in driving projects, be flexible about working on a team and doing ad-hoc projects as needed, and be excited to work in the housing field and helping execute the strategic goals of Housing Assistance Corporation.

  • Four-year college degree, preferably in Marketing and/or Communications

Family Shelter Case Manager-Upper Cape

Housing Assistance Corporation is currently hiring shelter Case Managers at our family homeless shelter located in Cataumet. This position will work directly with clients to identify housing barriers, assist with housing search activities, and complete required state documentation. From assessment to placement, the case manager will be responsible for assisting families with budgeting, monitoring completion of required tasks, and supporting efforts to secure long term secure housing.

Qualified candidates will have experience working with homeless or low-income families, be team oriented, have experience identifying community resources and must have a valid Driver’s License. Maintenance Technician

Housing Assistance Corp. has an opening for a maintenance technician. This position will provide general maintenance for our 17 residential units, shelter facilities and scattered-site shelter units, and office locations. Duties may include minor plumbing and electrical repairs, wall patching, painting, light custodial work, and assembly of furniture. Must have the ability to multi- task, lift up to 50 pounds, have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and tools. Also need to be comfortable on a ladder and with email and work order systems. Must be available for nights and weekends for on-call schedule and emergencies. Strongly prefer a LICENSED plumber, electrician, or a Construction Supervisor license helpful.

This is a 35 hour per week position that reports to the Property Manager.

Energy Auditor/Leased Housing Inspector

This is a full time, 40 hour a week position with duties split between the Energy Department and the Leased Housing Department of Housing Assistance Corporation. Training opportunities are available for the right person to become a certified Energy Auditor and Housing Inspector. Duties include Electrical Audits and Quality Control Inspections for Mass Save clients, Inspections of Leased Housing units, contacting clients and landlords, and entering data into a variety of databases. Skills required include excellent time management, communication, organization, and customer service, as well as a strong work ethic and computer literacy. Must be able to act independently and as a team player. Experience and/or knowledge of building science and/or single-family home construction is a plus. A valid driver’s license is required.

System Navigator, Family Shelter

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for a full-time, 35 hours per week, System Navigator to work within Housing Assistance Corporations Family Shelter System. The goal of this position is to assist our family homeless shelters with access to resources, community connections, and facilitating information on resources to shelter staff. They will interface with shelter staff and act as in-house consultants and support systems to case managers, housing search workers, and stabilization workers who are struggling to help families navigate complex bureaucracies. The position will be a community liaison to external providers, including medical, employment/training, childcare, food and nutrition, and others.

Applicants should have strong communication skills, experience working within team, ability to follow confidentiality policies, demonstrate reliability, and have at least 2 years working within human services. Valid MA driver’s license is required.

Village at Cataumet Shelter Support Staff

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for support staff for nights, weekends, and holidays/per diem for our family homeless shelter in the Bourne area. Our shelters serve families who are experiencing homelessness and help them to stabilize their housing situation.

Qualified applicants will have an interest or experience working with families in crisis; be dependable and reliable; and be able to follow shelter procedures. Support staff report to the Shelter Director.

Available shifts, include every other weekend:

  • Evening Shifts, 4-8 pm AND 4 pm-midnight
  • Saturday and Sunday, noon-midnight
  • Holiday/Per Diem coverage hours vary

The rate is $17 per hour. Signing bonuses and stipends are available for a limited time.

Carriage House Shelter Support Staff

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for  a part-time, 20 hour/week employee to work at our women’s and children homeless shelter in North Falmouth. Our Carriage House shelter serves families who are experiencing homelessness and helps them overcome barriers so they can find success once out of shelter.

The shifts for this position are:

  • Evenings, 3 pm to 10 pm
  • Overnight Shifts: 10 pm to 8 am
  • Various weekend shifts and holidays

The rate for this position is $17 per hour and includes a signing bonus. Per diem shifts may also be available.
