Energy Auditor/Leased Housing Inspector

This is a full time, 40 hour a week position with duties split between the Energy Department and the Leased Housing Department of Housing Assistance Corporation. Training opportunities are available for the right person to become a certified Energy Auditor and Housing Inspector. Duties include Electrical Audits and Quality Control Inspections for Mass Save clients, Inspections of Leased Housing units, contacting clients and landlords, and entering data into a variety of databases. Skills required include excellent time management, communication, organization, and customer service, as well as a strong work ethic and computer literacy. Must be able to act independently and as a team player. Experience and/or knowledge of building science and/or single-family home construction is a plus. A valid driver’s license is required.

Administrative Assistant, Leased Housing

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for a part-time, 23 hours per week, Administrative Assistant to work within Housing Assistance Corporations Leased Housing Program. Regular duties include scanning documents into the data entry system, data entry, photocopying and mailing of leases and contracts to owners and participants, filing, and supply ordering for department staff. Applicants should have strong attention to detail skills, experience working within a busy office environment, ability to follow confidentiality policies, demonstrate reliability, and be able to work on a strong team.

Housing Counselor

The primary role of this position is to engage with people who are requesting information through the agency for housing counseling, referrals, and financial assistance. Housing Counselor will engage with individuals and families to provide requested information and counseling. Provide information and guidance regarding significant financial transactions and with high-risk clients. The Housing Counselor provides Reverse Mortgage counseling to clients who are required to receive unbiased information regarding the benefits and risks of a reverse mortgage while working with an outside lender. They also provide Foreclosure Counseling to clients who are delinquent in mortgage payments and at risk of losing their housing regarding the process of loss mitigation and reviewing financial information to make a determination of financial feasibility moving forward. This position will administer funding for move-in or housing retention costs for households who are housing unstable and in need of public/private funding to stabilize. Required skills for this position include the ability to perform math/accounting equations, ability to be extremely detail oriented, compassionate, consistent, and the ability to become HUD HECM Counselor Certified and HUD Housing Counselor Certified by within 6 months of hire. Experience working with high-risk individuals with a team in a case management system or information/referral system is a must!

Maintenance Technician

This position will provide general maintenance for our 17 residential units, shelter facilities and scattered-site shelter units, and office locations. Duties may include minor plumbing and electrical repairs, wall patching, painting, light custodial work, and assembly of furniture. Must have the ability to multi- task, lift up to 50 pounds, have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and tools. Also need to be comfortable on a ladder and with email and work order systems. Must be available for nights and weekends for on-call schedule and emergencies. Strongly prefer a LICENSED plumber or electrician; a Construction Supervisor license helpful. 

This is a 35 hour per week position that reports to the Property Manager.

Staff Accountant

Currently seeking an experienced staff accountant to join our finance team. This full time, benefit eligible, position is responsible for performing general accounting and bookkeeping, including payroll processing, journal entries, reconciliations, payables/receivables, preparing financial reports and department budgets. Experience with government contracts is desirable. The ideal candidate will have previous work experience with accounting software packages, such as Sage 100. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and demonstrated knowledge of accounting and finance functions are a must. A BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience is required.

Village at Cataumet Shelter Support Staff

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for support staff for nights, weekends, and holidays/per diem for our family homeless shelter in the Bourne area. Our shelters serve families who are experiencing homelessness and help them to stabilize their housing situation.

Qualified applicants will have an interest or experience working with families in crisis; be dependable and reliable; and be able to follow shelter procedures. Support staff report to the Shelter Director.

Available shifts, include every other weekend:

  • Evening Shifts, 4-8 pm AND 4 pm-midnight
  • Saturday and Sunday, noon-midnight
  • Holiday/Per Diem coverage hours vary

The rate is $17 per hour. Signing bonuses and stipends are available for a limited time.

Carriage House Shelter Support Staff

Housing Assistance Corporation is looking for  a part-time, 20 hour/week employee to work at our women’s and children homeless shelter in North Falmouth. Our Carriage House shelter serves families who are experiencing homelessness and helps them overcome barriers so they can find success once out of shelter.

The shifts for this position are:

  • Evenings, 3 pm to 10 pm
  • Overnight Shifts: 10 pm to 8 am
  • Various weekend shifts and holidays

The rate for this position is $17 per hour and includes a signing bonus. Per diem shifts may also be available.
